About Us
Learn more about Wellness + Design Collection (WDC)
A new reference for architecture and design in global hospitality markets.
Wellness + Design Collection (WDC) documents significant hospitality projects and the architects, interior designers, landscape architects, developers, and project teams behind them through independent digital editorial coverage and the annual hardcover WDC Collection.
WDC was created around a simple idea that exceptional hospitality projects take years of thought, collaboration, and construction, yet once a property opens, the people behind the work can quickly become secondary to the property name once the project enters the market.
We believe important work deserves to be properly documented and celebrated.
Throughout the year, WDC considers completed hospitality and wellness projects for independent digital editorial coverage.
Our stories look beyond the finished property to the decisions, ideas, collaborations, and people responsible for the work. Digital editorial coverage is independent of participation in the printed Collection.
The Collection
In an increasingly digital industry, WDC believes there is still value in creating something physical.
The WDC Collection creates a permanent printed record of hospitality architecture and design, bringing together selected work by architects, interior designers, landscape architects, developers, and multidisciplinary project teams working across international hospitality markets.
Each year, WDC selects a group of significant completed projects for the annual hardcover Collection.
Projects are considered individually and selected for the quality of the work, the thinking behind it, its relevance to contemporary hospitality, and the contribution it makes to the wider design industry.
Studios and project teams whose work is selected are invited to participate in the printed edition.
The hardcover Collection is created to be kept, referenced, and shared within a professional network that includes hotel operators, developers, designers, and people involved in commissioning future hospitality projects.
For design practices, this gives completed work a life beyond the launch cycle and places it within a lasting professional record.
Independent Editorial
Submitting a project to WDC does not require a fee, and no fee is charged for independent digital editorial coverage.
The printed WDC Collection is a separate, curated annual edition. A participation fee applies only to projects selected and invited for inclusion in the hardcover Collection.
This distinction allows WDC to maintain independent editorial consideration while developing a carefully produced physical record of selected work.
Who WDC is for
WDC follows work across hospitality architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, wellness design, and development.
We are particularly interested in completed hotels, resorts, retreats, spas, wellness destinations, and hospitality-led residential projects where design plays a meaningful role in the experience of the place.
Our focus is international. Through WDC and the annual Collection, we place the work of architects, designers, and project teams within a professional hospitality context that includes hotel operators, developers, and others involved in commissioning future projects.
