Inside Sant Roch: a New Standard for Wellness Community in Paris

Sant Roch opens opposite the Tuileries as a new contrast therapy sanctuary in Paris, with a large sauna and five cold plunge pools.

Paris has never lacked for beautiful interiors, nor for places dedicated to pleasure. Now Sant Roch has arrived with an ambition to redefine urban wellness in the heart of the city.

Located opposite the Tuileries Gardens in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, Sant Roch is France’s first contrast therapy sanctuary, transforming cycles of heat and cold into an immersive urban experience. Founded by Jules and Chloé Bouscatel, the couple behind Monday Sports Club, it marks a natural expansion of their interest in modern wellness and recovery, moving from fitness into regeneration. The result is neither a conventional spa nor a recovery studio, but a new kind of wellness destination in Paris.

Spanning 400 square meters across two levels, Sant Roch is home to the largest sauna in France, a 60+ square meter sensory chamber, alongside five cold plunge pools thermoregulated between 3°C and 8°C. Yet what defines the project is not scale alone, but the way its method is expressed through space. Following the principles of contrast therapy, visitors move between heat and cold in a practice known to improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and accelerate muscle recovery.

The interior design plays a central role in this transformation. Designed with a restrained material palette, the space draws on timber, terracotta, lime-plastered surfaces, and low amber light to create an environment that feels grounded and elemental. Referencing the ancient Roman baths of Lutetia, Sant Roch channels the timeless appeal of bathhouse culture through materiality, atmosphere, and ritual.

Guests may move through the space independently or join guided ritual sessions of breathwork, soundscapes, and meditation; in this, Sant Roch speaks to a broader shift in wellness culture toward shared experience and individual recovery. By bringing together contrast therapy, considered wellness architecture, and a sense of communal ritual, Sant Roch is set to lead the new wave of wellness in Paris.
